My name is James Jones and I currently live in Miami Beach, FL. I work in a non-profit research institute, primarily developing medical training for doctors, nurses, and caregivers. I have a background in traditional animation, and I spent my first two years working in that field. Seven years later, and I now consider myself more of an application and interface designer. I work mostly in Adobe Flash and some Flex, but I'm perfectly comfortable doing AJAX. I'm strong in HTML and CSS, and I get by with Javascript libraries and simple PHP. I know a lot of different programs and web frameworks like Gaia, ExpressionEngine, many popular wikis and blogs; CMS and LMS frameworks like Angel, Moodle, Drupal, and Joomla. I've worked on projects with developers in many of the popular development languages. Though I'm not a programmer, I have a great understanding of programming’s benefits and limitations, and I stay current with developing trends. Combining that with my design and animation abilities, and my usability and human factors experience (working in a research institute), I've turned into an application designer.
I'm from Wilkes-Barre, PA. Most of my family still lives there. Miami weather is great, but I really miss the winters. I don't always have a moustache, after all I can't have women fawning over me all the time. I like finding new creative outlets, even better when it means I have to learn something.
The concept was to create a site that showed enough snapshots of me, personally and professionally, to give a complete picture. No navigation menu, instead each element on the front page is a window into a different aspect of me.
